Mix Dal Paratha

This Protein Rich Paratha is extremely delicious in taste, easy to digest and have numerous health benefits on our body.



Health benefits of Chana Dal (Split Bengal Gram), Yellow Moong Dal (Petite Yellow Lentils) , Masoor Dal (Pink Lentils) and Toor Dal (Split Pigeon Peas) :

  • Helps stabilize Blood Sugar Level and keeps Heart healthy by lowering cholesterol.

  • Low in fat and very low Hypoglycemic Index, which is important for diabetic patients.

  • Having Anti-Ageing properties and beneficial for a Glowing and Radiating Skin.


Ingredients-


  • Wheat Flour 1 & 1/2 Cups

  • Boiled Mix Dal 1 Cup (Ratio - Chana Dal 1/2 Cup, Yellow Moong Dal 1/4 Cup, Toor Dal 2 Tbsp, Masoor Dal 2 Tbsp)

  • Finely Chopped Onion 1/2 Cup

  • Finely Chopped Tomato 1/2 Cup

  • Finely Chopped Coriander

  • Ginger-Garlic Paste

  • Garam Masala 1/2 Tsp (Optional)

  • Coriander Powder 1 Tsp

  • Cumin Powder 1/2 Tsp

  • Red Chilli Powder as required

  • Asafoetida 1/4 Tsp

  • Amchur Powder 1 Tsp

  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 Tsp

  • Carom Seeds 1 Tsp

  • Salt as per taste

  • Oil or Ghee as required

  • Water as required for making dough


Direction-


  • Take a medium size vessel, add dals as per above mentioned ratio.

  • Wash the mixture 2-3 times and pressure cook it for 3-4 whistles or till the time dal turns soft.

  • Now let it cool completely.

  • In a mixing bowl, add Wheat Flour, Cooked Mixture of Dals, Tomatoes, Onions, Coriander, Carom Seeds, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder, Amchur Powder, Red Chili Powder, Salt and 1 Tbsp Oil/Ghee.

  • First mix all the ingredients well and then start kneading the dough. Dough should be soft as regular roti or chapati dough.

  • Cover and rest the dough for 20-30 mins.

  • Take a medium size dough and dust it with some wheat flour.

  • Roll it in a small circle and apply little ghee/oil, fold it in half and repeat again to get a triangular shape.

  • Sprinkle little flour again and start rolling it again into a triangle or circle. It should not be too thick or too thin.

  • Now transfer the rolled paratha to a hot griddle or tawa. Apply some ghee/oil as required and cook it from both the sides.

  • Finally Mix Dal Paratha is ready. Serve hot with Pickle, Curd and some Salad.





Tips - You can use leftover dal for making these parathas. It can be served with any sauce, chutney or any type of pickle.
