Many of us like to have variety in our daily breakfast. But due to time constrain we don't explore much and just go with same breakfast over and over. Right??? So here comes something instant and nutritious breakfast recipe - Green Moong Dal Chilla.

Very quick recipe as it does not require any fermentation time like other dosas.

  • Ginger 1/2 Inch

  • Garlic 1 or 2 Pods

  • Coriander

  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 Tsp

  • Cumin Seeds 1 Tsp

  • Salt as per taste

Direction-

  • In a grinder/mixer jar, take Green Moong Dal, Green Chili, Ginger, Garlic, Coriander. Add little water and grind it. If required add little more water to form batter.

  • Now take medium size bowl and add Green Moong Dal Batter, Cumin Seeds, Turmeric Powder, finely chopped Coriander and Salt.

  • Mix all the ingredients together and if required add more water to form pouring consistency.

  • Heat up the pan and start making chilla. Serve hot with favorite ketchup/sauce/green chutney/coconut chutney/tomato chutney.

Tips - Avoid or go easy on adding green chili, ginger and garlic while making this chilla for kids under 3/4 years old. They will not like the strong taste of these herbs. When i make this chilla for my daughter, i totally avoid adding ginger and green chili. I prefer a pinch of Kashmiri Red Chili Powder over green chili.
