Chutneys make Indian meals complete. They just transform your simple meals into the feasts.

This time lets make this spicy Dry Coconut Chutney.

I have already published many recipes of chutney.

Dry Coconut/Khobre Chutney -

Do you know the Health Benefits of Coconut?

  • Coconut is Rich in Fiber

  • Improves your Heart Health

  • Improves Digestion

  • Strengthens Connective Tissues

Do you know the Health Benefits of Garlic?

  • Works as Blood Purifier

  • Provides relief from Cold and Cough

  • Helps to lower Cholesterol Level

  • Strengthens the immunity of body against Cancer

Ingredients-

  • Dry Coconut or Desiccated Coconut 1/2 Cup

  • Garlic Pods 8-10

  • Red Chili Powder 1 and 1/2 Tbsp

  • Salt as per taste

You can add red chili powder as per your taste. I am going to add Kashmiri Red Chili Powder to give nice red color to this chutney.

If your are living in abroad and its hard to find Dry Coconut you can go ahead and use Desiccated Coconut. Trust me it equally tastes delicious. When we were in USA I use to make this with desiccated coconut. So it's tried and tasted recipe.

Directions-

  • Take a pan with thick bottom and roast Garlic Pods, Garlic Pods on low to medium flame.

  • Once they are nice and brown add grated Dry Coconut to it and roast for few seconds. Remember Coconut takes less time for roasting.

  • Now transfer it to a plate and let these ingredients cool down completely.

  • Add above ingredients to a mixer/grinder jar along with Red Chili Powder and Salt.

  • Grind it to a slightly coarse consistency.

  • Store it in air tight container.

This chutney goes well with Indian Regional Meals as we as famous Indian Snacks such as Vada Pav, Samosa, even with Pakodas.
